Lahore Traffic Police Declares June 3 as Education Day: No Fines, Only Warnings

Lahore, June 3, 2024 – In an unprecedented move, the Lahore Traffic Police have announced that no traffic fines, also known as challans, will be issued in the city today. Instead, the day has been designated as “Education Day,” with a focus on raising awareness about traffic laws among citizens.

Chief Traffic Officer Ammara Athar revealed the initiative, stating that today, violators of traffic laws will receive warnings rather than fines. “Today will be marked as Education Day,” Athar said. “The goal is to educate citizens about traffic laws while using fines to instill a sense of accountability.”

To facilitate this educational effort, special camps will be set up at key locations across the city, including Mall Road, Jail Road, and Ferozepur Road. Both male and female traffic wardens will be on-site to educate citizens about traffic regulations and the importance of road safety.
