In a bid to facilitate citizens during the crucial voting period, Lahore Traffic Police has announced a temporary halt on issuing challans against ID cards until February 8. This strategic move comes as a relief to voters, ensuring they face no obstacles while exercising their democratic rights. However, strict enforcement of traffic regulations remains unchanged amidst this reprieve.
CTO Amara Athar conveyed this significant decision through a wireless message, emphasizing that citizens need not worry about receiving challans on their ID cards until the aforementioned date. Those individuals whose ID cards have already been flagged can retrieve them conveniently between 7 am to 11 pm. Moreover, citizens have the option to provide their registration book and license as collateral in lieu of challans.
Additionally, citizens can expedite the process of document retrieval by utilizing the digital challaning system, simplifying administrative procedures during this critical period.
This proactive stance by the Lahore Traffic Police underscores their commitment to ensuring a smooth and hassle-free voting experience for all citizens.
