Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently visited the Lahore Zoo, kickstarting a groundbreaking upgrade project. The zoo set to redefine entertainment standards, focusing on quality facilities for children. Naqvi revealed plans for 100 new animals, introducing an innovative e-ticketing system and the establishment of a mesmerizing hologram zoo.
Lahore Zoo aims to welcome diverse wildlife, including pandas, hippos, rhinos, African pigeons, black jaguars, pumas, Chaltan Markhors, and more. Additionally, new species of dragons and snakes will be featured, along with an impressive aquarium housing 142 types of marine life.
Under Naqvi’s directive, the zoo will witness modernization, adhering to international standards with upgraded cages and enhanced facilities. During his visit, he meticulously inspected various animal enclosures, including the Lion House, Monkey House, Zarafa House, and the new Reptile House. The introduction of a Zoo Hologram will create an immersive experience, providing visitors with the sensation of real animal presence.
Naqvi committed to animal welfare, stressing top-notch treatment and veterinary care. He urged spacious areas for lions and promptly released funds for the upgrade. Lahore Zoo is set to house unique and rare animals, surpassing previous offerings.
Naqvi acknowledged Lahore Zoo’s historical neglect and assured a revival. Plans include better footpaths, uniformed infrastructure, and captivating fountains. Naqvi also recognized the zoo’s importance for children and revealed collaboration plans with provincial ministers and institutions for a comprehensive upgrade.
Lahore Zoo and Safari Park are undergoing renovations to become premier family destinations again. The transformation includes adding 100 new animal species for an engaging experience for residents and tourists.
