The Lahore Zoo and Safari Park are set to become home to over 100 new species of animals, marking a significant expansion of their existing collections. The Safari Park now boasts a state-of-the-art aquarium and will soon offer night safari experiences to visitors.
The upgradation of these two major zoos, a project that is now 90% complete, has been a monumental task. The Secretary Forest and DG Wildlife have been instrumental in this process, with the Secretary to the Chief Minister personally overseeing the Safari Park’s improvements. Provincial Minister Bilal Afzal has also played a key role in the project.

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the upgraded Safari Park recently. He expressed his delight after the project and congratulated the children of Punjab on this achievement. Naqvi, who paid for his ticket, spent two hours touring the park, visiting the lion and tiger safari, and experiencing the Hologram Zoo.
Free Entry For Students in Lahore Zoo
The Chief Minister also announced that school students would enjoy free entry to the Safari Park for one month. In a surprising turn of events, six new elephants are set to arrive at the Safari Park, exceeding the initial plan for four. This marks a significant milestone as the park previously had no elephants.
The completion of the Lahore Zoo’s upgradation is eagerly anticipated. This project represents a promise fulfilled to the children of Punjab, offering them a chance to experience the joy and wonder of nature in a safe and engaging environment.
