In a recent meeting chaired by Sindh’s Chief Secretary Syed Asif Haider Shah, a comprehensive plan was outlined to expand and restore the revered Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine. The meeting saw the participation of key officials, including the secretaries of municipal services and works, the commissioner of Hyderabad, the deputy commissioner of Jamshoro, and the administrator of Waqf.
The Department of Waqf presented an update on the ongoing development projects at the shrine, including the construction of a new road for improved accessibility.
The Chief Secretary underscored the urgency to eliminate all encroachments in the city. He also highlighted the need for better traffic management through the establishment of parking plazas and effective utilization of existing bus stands.
A significant part of the discussion revolved around the timely completion of water supply and sanitation schemes. The Chief Secretary also directed the formulation of a master plan for Sehwan city, encompassing roads, traffic management, healthcare, and sanitation sectors.
Emphasizing the importance of maintaining the quality of work at the shrine, the Chief Secretary stressed ensuring easy access to all facilities for visitors. Plans are also in the pipeline to establish a Rapid Response Center and a mega storage facility for medicines in Sehwan.
The Chief Secretary instructed the Chief Administrator of Waqf to enhance the management within the shrine premises, marking a significant step towards the shrine’s revitalization.
