Rainfall in lower areas and snowfall in upper regions, commencing on Monday morning, continue to impede efforts to clear landslides at multiple locations such as Achar Nallah in Kohistan and the Thore area.
Efforts to clear debris and restore connectivity are underway, with authorities prioritizing public safety. A precautionary advisory urges travelers to avoid unnecessary travel along the affected route to prevent potential accidents amid challenging circumstances.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Haji Gulbar Khan has issued instructions to the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA), divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and administrative officers to be prepare for the expected situation. Machinery for road rehabilitation and human life assistance across Gilgit-Baltistan is on standby.
