Latest Passport Updates: Fast-Track Reaches Zero Backlog

The Passport Department has announced significant updates regarding passport issuance, particularly for citizens applying under the fast-track and urgent categories. In a recent statement, officials revealed that the backlog for fast-track passports has been eliminated, providing much-needed relief to applicants.

Fast-Track Passports Update

The Passport Department confirmed that all fast-track category applications have been processed, resulting in a complete reduction of the backlog to zero. Over 30,000 fast-track passports have already been issued, ensuring that citizens receive their passports without unnecessary delays. This swift processing is part of the department’s commitment to improving service delivery and efficiency.

Urgent Category Passports

In addition to fast-track passports, the department has also made notable progress with passports applied for under the urgent category. Officials reported that 70,000 urgent passports have been successfully issued, with expectations that the backlog will also reach zero by the day after tomorrow. This means that individuals who applied for passports urgently can expect their documents to be processed promptly.

Foreign Missions and Online Applications

The updates extend beyond local applications. The Passport Department has cleared 17,500 passports that were processed through foreign missions. Moreover, passports applied for online have also seen significant progress, with 17,000 passports issued to date.

Commitment to Efficient Service

Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, emphasized that the issuance of passports is a top priority for the department. This commitment aims to enhance the overall experience for citizens, making the application process smoother and more efficient.

With the reduction of backlogs in both fast-track and urgent passport categories, the Passport Department is making strides toward better service delivery. Citizens can expect faster processing times and greater accessibility to their passport needs. For those awaiting their passports, these updates signal a positive shift towards timely issuance and improved customer satisfaction.
