Power cuts, affecting major parts of the city, water logged streets and lost of lives after heavy monsoons rain.
Since early morning, there is light rain and drizzling in Karachi, whereas heavy monsoon rain is disrupting other parts of Pakistan. The Pakistani Meteorological department announced that Karachi is likely to face drizzle up to July 15 and the maximum temperature is likely to reach between 33 to 35 degree Celsius. Due to high humidity weather feels hotter.
In cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, D.G. Khan, Gujrat, Larkana, and Barkhan, monsoon rain caused urban flooding and power breakdowns. Multiple low-lying areas submerged, and several regions reported blocked roads and damaged infrastructure.
In Khuzdar, three people died and one was injured in rain-related incidents. The injured was shifted to a local hospital. Naseerabad and surrounding areas also experienced heavy rain with thunder, leading to waterlogging and power suspension.
D.G. Khan and nearby areas saw stormy weather and strong winds. Authorities issued flash flood warnings in Koh-e-Suleiman’s streams after continuous rainfall.
Gujrat reported water entering homes and commercial shops. Dozens of GEPCO feeders tripped. In Zinda Peer, a boy died after being struck by lightning.
Larkana and nearby areas in Sindh experienced thunderstorm rains. Power supply was cut off citywide as soon as the rain began. Low-lying areas in Larkana flooded due to the heavy downpour.
