Light to Moderate Rainfall Expected in Next 24 Hours in Karachi

As Pakistan continues to experience the effects of the ongoing monsoon season, Karachi is expected to see light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the city’s temperature could rise to 32°C, with a 10-kilometer-per-hour wind blowing from the west. Humidity levels in the city are currently high at 89%, while the minimum temperature has been recorded at 27.5°C.

Recent light rain showers in Karachi have brought relief to residents who endured extreme heat last month. Weather expert Jawad Memon mentioned that light rain is expected in the city due to cloud cover, with the possibility of moderate rain in certain areas. He added that a gentle sea breeze is blowing, with rain likely in the northeastern parts of Karachi after midday.

In addition to Karachi, the PMD has forecasted rainfall in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various regions of Punjab from Wednesday through August 18. Areas such as Murree, Galyat, Chakwal, Gujrat, and Gujranwala are expected to experience rain along with strong winds. Other regions, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Sheikhupura, are also likely to see showers.

The Met Office further noted that Sindh’s coastal areas might have a partly cloudy atmosphere with a chance of light rain. This weather pattern is set to continue, bringing relief to several regions across the country.
