In a recent move, the Sindh Cabinet has given the nod to the launch of gold, silver, and platinum number plates for vehicles. This innovative initiative proposed by Sharjeel Memon, the Minister for Excise and Taxation.
The Excise and Taxation Department, which currently provides commercial, non-commercial, and motorcycle number plates, is set to expand its offerings with these premium number plates.
What are Premium Number Plates
These high-end number plates come with a host of unique features. They offer personalised ownership that can passed down generations, the ability to transfer the plate to another vehicle, and CNIC-based registration applicable to any private vehicle. Additionally, they can reused across different vehicles and transferred to another CNIC for a specified fee. Platinum numbers also offer customisable color shades, except for the prescribed colours.
Premium Number Plates Price in Pakistan with Categories
The premium plates divided into three categories: Platinum, Gold, and Silver. Platinum plates, priced at a base rate of Rs2 million, allow a maximum of three characters. Gold plates, priced at Rs1 million, can accommodate up to five characters. Lastly, Silver plates, with a base price of Rs50,000, can have a maximum of seven characters.
This move marks a significant step towards enhancing the vehicle registration process in Sindh, offering a touch of luxury and personalisation to vehicle owners.
