Majid Nizami’s 90th Birthday celebrated with National Spirit


Majid Nizami was the editor-in-chief and publisher in “Nawa-i-waqt” Group of Publications Pakistan after the death of the founder, Majid Nizami’s older brother Hameed Nizami. Majid Nizami managed the Nawa-i-waqt newspaper for an outstanding period of 50 plus years, achieving great awards for his hard work in the field of journalism in Pakistan. He was born on 3rd April 1928.

Homage Paid to the National Hero of Journalism Majid Nizami

Majid Nizami was also the chairman of Nazaria-i-Pakistan trust, and was paid homage yesterday on his 90th Birthday at Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehreek-e-Pakistan. The speakers on this event said that Majid Nizami was one of the pioneers of Journalism in Pakistan and that he is regarded highly amongst the journalists, political workers and activists in the country. He never compromised on his integrity as a journalist and lived his life by the pen. On this occasion political workers of PML (N), members of parliament belonging to PML (N) and other political activists cut cakes in honor of Majid Nizami’s Birthday.

Majid Nizami was said to have participated in the freedom movement of Pakistan during his life in School days. He was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Order of Excellence) Award, Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) Award and Sitara-e-Pakistan (Star of Pakistan) Award by the Government of Pakistan for his achievements during his lifetime, which are the highest ranked awards presented to heroes of this country. He was also awarded the Living Legend of Journalism Award in 2010.
