Pakistani healthcare startup – Marham – has been selected among the top 10 finalists invited to pitch at the Google for Entrepreneurs Asia Demo Day scheduled to take place in Shanghai this September.
After an open call for startups to apply and pitch to top global investors at Demo Day Asia— Google received hundreds of submissions coming from founders from every corner of Asia-Pacific and across industries as diverse as agriculture, entertainment, healthcare and many more.
After narrowing down these impressive fields and painstaking deliberation, the results were finally announced today in an official statement made by Google. Out of 305 qualifying applications, 10 finalists from all across the Asia will take the final stage at the Demo Day and among which is Marham, the sole but standout startup representation from Pakistan.
On this special moment, Ehsan Imam, CEO and Co-Founder of Marham said that;
“I’m jubilant that Marham will be representing Pakistan on such a massive stage. This has further strengthened our vision of bringing a change and ease in the life of patients. We see this selection as an opportunity which can help us to grow and take our efforts to next level.” – Ehsan Imam.
Marham is currently the largest digital healthcare platform in Pakistan and has been helping people in search of authentic doctors, booking appointments, and getting consultation with doctors online. The platform can be accessed through the website, mobile applications, social media and a 12-hour call center. With more than 12,000+ doctors registered on their platform, 15,000+ appointments booked per month and more than 300,000 patients looking for the health information each month, Marham has helped more than 5 million people in Pakistan through its services.
This is indeed a proud moment for the rapidly growing startup ecosystem of our country as Marham will get to participate and represent Pakistan at Google’s first Asian Demo Day. Selected startups will pitch to a distinguished panel of leaders from Google for Entrepreneurs, Sequoia Capital China, and Ventura Capital on September 20th in Shanghai. The startups that impress could come home with funding from investors and up to $100,000 in Google Cloud Platform credits.
