The renowned Monal and La Montana restaurants in Islamabad were completely sealed following orders from the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board, in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the federal police, and the Islamabad administration, led the operation to take control of these popular dining spots.
This action follows the Supreme Court’s recent directive aimed at protecting the biodiversity of the Margalla Hills National Park. The court, in its June 11 verdict, had ordered all restaurants operating within the park, including Monal, to relocate within three months.
Situated in the scenic Margalla Hills, Monal has long been a favorite destination for both locals and tourists. However, concerns over the increasing human impact on the park’s rich biodiversity led to the court’s decisive ruling. With Monal and La Montana now sealed, authorities will continue to coordinate efforts to protect the natural beauty of the area for future generations.
