Karachi: The banking court extended the interim bail of Faryal Talpur and former president Asif Ali Zardari in money laundering case on Wednesday (today).
Faryal Talpur and Asif Zardari interim bail in money laundering case extended till February 6. The banking court also adjourned the hearing of the money laundering case till February 14.
Both PPP leaders appeared before the court today. However, their interim bail was also ended today as the court earlier gave extension in bail till January 23 (today) in fake accounts case and money laundering.
The Federal Investigation Agency or FIA investigation officer did not appeared in the banking court today. However, he is currently in Islamabad.
Last month, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed to the court that joint investigation team (JIT) investigating the case submitted the report in the Supreme Court. On the other side, FIA not yet provided the final challan in the ongoing case in the court.
The FIA is investigating 32 people in relation to money laundering from fictitious accounts, including Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur. Former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairman Hussain Lawai, Omnii Group Chairman Anwar Majeed and his son Abdul Ghani Majeed are also suspects in the money laundering case through fake bank accounts.
