Motorcyclists in the city have just three days left to benefit from the motorcyclist license relief program, a special initiative by the traffic police to simplify the process of obtaining learners and regular driving licenses. This program, which has been a big hit with the public, will wrap up on November 30, leaving no extensions or second chances.
After the deadline, strict action will be taken against unlicensed riders. The traffic police are urging citizens to visit their nearest licensing centers with their original identity cards to secure their licenses and avoid potential fines or legal trouble.
So far, the relief program has seen an overwhelming response, benefiting more than 1.2 million people. Official data reveals that 460,940 motorcycle riders have obtained learner licenses, while 764,961 have secured regular licenses. Additionally, over 185,000 licenses were renewed during this period.
Speaking about the program, Additional Inspector General Mirza Farhan Baig highlighted its success, emphasizing its role in improving road safety and promoting adherence to traffic laws. “This is a chance for riders to get their licenses without unnecessary delays or hurdles,” he said.
From December 1, the usual rules will be back in place, including the strict enforcement of the 42-day validity period for learner licenses. The traffic police spokesperson urged motorcyclists to take advantage of the last days of the program, calling it a step forward for safer roads and better compliance.
If you haven’t gotten your license yet, now is the time. Don’t wait till the deadline; visit your nearest center and make the most of this motorcyclist license relief program before it’s too late.
