Muharram Security: Ban on pillion riding in Karachi is lifted after Ashura

The Sindh Government lifted the ban on pillion riding in Karachi today.

Ban on pillion riding in Karachi is lifted that was imposed from 8 to 10 Muharram for Ashura security. Sindh Government imposed the ban in some part of the province.

Now, roads are reopened and the containers are also removed from processions’ routes. In addition, mobile phone services are also restored across Pakistan including Peshawar, Lahore, and Karachi.


However, mobile phone services were suspended from 7am till the midnight, along the Ashura processions’ routes.

During the Ashura, Strict security measures were implemented for the Muharram processions. The paramilitary forces and contingents of police performed their duties along the Ashura processions’ routes across the Pakistan.

In Pakistan, the Ashura processions held with all due respect. During the procession, Ulemas made speeches on the sacrifices of martyrs of Karbala. Foolproof security arrangements have been made and roads on procession routes are blocked by placing containers.
