Mustafa Kamal, the Deputy Convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), has confirmed the authenticity of a leaked audio clip from an MQM-P Rabita Committee meeting. In the audio, Kamal discusses a late-night meeting with PML-N leaders, expressing their apparent reluctance to meet.
Kamal reveals that the PML-N leaders informed the MQM-P delegation of a subsequent meeting with PPP’s leadership. The PML-N leaders kept the details of the agreement confidential but shared two key points: the PPP’s dismissal of MQM-P’s mandate as entirely false and their desire to sideline MQM-P due to the former’s sufficient numbers for government formation.
In a video statement, Kamal endorsed the leaked audio, stating it was him informing his party members about the PML-N meetings. He highlighted the PPP’s public denouncement of MQM-P’s mandate as “fake” on television channels, a sentiment echoed by MQM-P about the PPP’s mandate.
The MQM-P leader further revealed the presence of individuals loyal to the MQM London faction within the coordination committee, identifying them as the long-awaited “moles”. Kamal concluded by stating that MQM-London released the audio, mistakenly believing they had uncovered significant information.
