Lahore High Court (LHC) summoned the Returning Officer (RO) of NA-57 for the Shahid Khaqan Abbasi petition’s hearing.
LHC dismissed the decision of appellate tribunal for the lifetime disqualification of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. The court allowed him to contest elections from NA-57.
NA-57 RO appeared before the Lahore High Court (LHC) for the hearing of Shahid Khaqan’s petition. The election tribunal found him guilty for the misrepresentation of facts in the Pakistan Election 2018 nomination forms. Earlier, Masood Ahmed Abbasi, filed a petition against the PML-N leader. However, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi then disqualified from contesting the General Election 2018 from NA-57.
In addition, LHC later overturned the decision of appellate tribunal. It allowed him to contest upcoming election from NA-57 on the interim basis.
Yesterday, during the case hearing, court inquired Shahid Khaqan that why he is delivering anti-judiciary speeches. The court further added that when the Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif, he was still saying Nawaz his PM. The case is under process in the High Court.
