National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi has filed a reference against former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday.
A notification has been issued by NAB about the filing of reference against Yousuf Raza Gilani over the misuse of authority.
Other co-accused in the reference include former information secretary Farooq, former public information officer Saleem, Hassan Sheikhoo, Hanif and Riaz.
According to NAB notification,Yousuf Raza Gilani and others accused ran an illegal marketing campaign for Universal Services Fund.
The national exchequer suffered a loss of PKR 128 million owing to the actions of Yousuf Raza Gilani and other accused.
A day earlier, NAB also approved action against Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar, Defence minister Pervez Khattak, and Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani.
Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal presided over an executive board session, in which he gave approval for inquiry for 14 different cases.
According to an official notification of NAB, the authority gave approval for investigation against Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, however, no details were given.
The NAB notification stated that approval for action against several others was also given, including famous industrialist Iqbal Z. Ahmed.
National Accountability Bureau session also approved filing of reference against Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Dr Ahsan Ali and former KP minister Nawabzada Mahmood Zeb.
Former Balochistan food minister Izhar Hussain will also have to face a NAB investigation.
Chairman NAB said that solving mega corruption cases is the priority and they are following the policy of “accountability for everyone”.
