NADRA has mandated the use of photographs on B-Forms for children aged 3 to 10, and will collect fingerprints for children aged 10 to 18. The relocation will not only help capture family records but also help avoid false entries and ensure that the identity of every child is linked to a formal birth registration across Pakistan.
Photos Now Required on NADRA B-Forms for Ages 3–10
NADRA announced that children aged 3 to 10 must have photos on their B-Forms. The rule aims to protect citizens’ family trees and prevent fake registrations. Children under 3 remain exempt from this requirement.
For children aged 10 to 18, NADRA will also take fingerprints. These biometrics strengthen identity verification. Officials say the step will help prevent illegal entries and misuse of B-Forms.
The birth of the child should be registered by the parents to the local Union Council within one month. Child registration connects the child with the official family record and gives the country rightful inclusion in national databases.
The updated B-Form rules now apply beyond identity tracking. B-Forms are needed in schools and hospitals to admit and do their registrations. This makes the document more important in daily life.
NADRA’s reforms build on 2025 biometric updates. They help stop fake entries, illegal passports, and human trafficking. Authorities say secure B-Forms strengthen Pakistan’s national records and protect children.
