In a bid to enhance accessibility and convenience for the citizens of Karachi, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has extended its services by introducing ID card renewal and other essential services in 10 General Post Offices (GPOs) across the city.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has taken a significant step towards facilitating the residents of Karachi by launching ID card renewal and other crucial services at 10 General Post Offices (GPOs) in the city. This move is part of NADRA’s commitment to improving public access to essential services.
The newly introduced services encompass a wide range of conveniences, including card renewal, correction of marital status, addresses, signatures, and more. To streamline these processes, dedicated counters have been established within these GPOs, each equipped with state-of-the-art devices seamlessly connected to the NADRA system.
One noteworthy aspect of this service expansion is the provision for renewing ID cards even after their expiration, starting one year after expiry. However, it is essential to be aware that the biometric facility for blood relatives is not currently available at these post offices. Forms requiring this specific feature must still be renewed by a grade-16 officer.
While services like Family Registration Certificate (FRC) issuance and B-form issuance are not yet accessible at GPOs, a long-term contract between the post offices and NADRA has been established. It is expected that these services will become operational in the upcoming week, promising an even higher level of convenience for the residents of Karachi.
NADRA’s initiative to extend its services to Karachi’s GPOs underscores its commitment to making essential documentation and ID card-related services more accessible to the public. This expansion is set to significantly benefit the citizens of Karachi, providing them with a hassle-free way to renew and update their ID cards.
