The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a crucial initiative to expedite the registration of Afghan nationals returning to Afghanistan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). To enhance this effort, NADRA has deployed 22 mobile vans in Landi Kotal to streamline the registration process.
A dedicated team of 140 NADRA employees is operating 20 counters with these mobile vans at the transit point, ensuring that registration services are available round the clock.
NADRA has significantly increased its daily registration capacity starting from November 1, allowing them to accommodate up to 15,000 individuals daily.
In a recent development on Sunday, 6,584 illegal Afghan nationals successfully repatriated to their home country, which included 1,878 men, 1,624 women, and 3,082 children. Notably, the total number of illegal Afghans who have returned to their homeland has now reached 188,738.
The efficient and timely services provided by NADRA have received positive feedback and appreciation from foreign visitors at the border, highlighting the agency’s commitment to facilitating the return of Afghan nationals to their home country.
Sindh’s Plan for Detention Camps
In related news, the province of Sindh has announced plans to establish detention camps for the purpose of holding illegal Afghan immigrants. This move aimed at addressing the challenges posed by the influx of Afghan nationals into the region.
