ISLAMABAD: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has been issued special instructions by the ECP (Election Commission of Pakistan) to ensure on-time deliverance of National Identity Cards in order to guarantee the maximum participation of voters in polls 2018 ahead.
According to ECP, NADRA has been directed to immediately process the applications for lost ID cards and issue these without any delay. Regardless of the applications category that is’ of or urgent, the N.I.Cs should be issued by the 24th of this month. Furthermore, the ID cards of those citizens should not be confiscated who have applied for changes in particulars until the cards that are newly issued.
Earlier in the year Nadra had increased fee for issuance of all types of Computerized CNICs and National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis. The fee that is revised was implemented from April 24 onwards across the country.
According to a notification of Nadra, citizens acquiring normal CNIC for the first time will be served without any charges, while Rs 400 will be charged for renewal or issuance of duplicate cards.
Urgent and CNICs that are executive category be obtained through charges of Rs 1150 and Rs 2150, respectively. The new smart ID card cost is Rs 750, while urgent and executive can be obtained after payment of Rs 1500 and Rs 2500, respectively.
