NADRA to Launch New Mobile App, Replacing Pak ID Web Portal Permanently

The National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) has announced the launch of a new mobile application that will replace the Pak ID web portal. The web portal, which has a vital tool for handling identity-related services, will be permanently shut down on January 17, 2025.

A Step Towards Enhanced Security and Convenience

The new mobile app designed to provide a more secure and user-friendly experience, addressing challenges faced by Pakistanis, particularly those living abroad. Previously, users reported difficulties in uploading fingerprints and other necessary documents through the web portal, which often caused delays in processing their applications.

Tackling Fraudulent Activities

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that the closure of the web portal was necessary to combat security risks. He explained that fake identity documents were generate and uploaded through fraudulent websites and individuals, posing a serious threat to the security of citizens’ private information. The introduction of the mobile app aims to eliminate such risks and provide a safer alternative for accessing NADRA services.

Consolidating All NADRA Services in One Platform

The mobile application offers a significant upgrade by consolidating all essential NADRA services into a single platform. Services available through the app include:

  • Issuance of ID Cards
  • National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOPs)
  • Pakistan Origin Cards (POCs)
  • B-Forms
  • Family Registration Certificates (FRCs)

With the new app, users can conveniently complete their documentation processes from the comfort of their homes, making it easier than ever to access NADRA’s services.
