National Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) increased the electricity prices in Pakistan.

NEPRA increased electricity prices in Pakistan by Rs 4 per unit. The rise is for one year and the new power tariff in Pakistan will be Rs 15.5 per unit. However, the old electricity tariff in Pakistan was Rs 11.5 per unit on average.

The electricity prices in Pakistan are increased for the tariffs of Balochistan, KP, Multan, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, and Sukkur electric companies.


This increase will have an additional burden of 120 billion rupees on electricity consumers. According to the National Electricity and Power Regulatory Authority, the price per unit increase has been made in the past fiscal year. The new price of electricity will be applied after the notification by the Ministry of Power Division.
