In a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh’s Senior Minister for Information, Transport & Mass Transit, and Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, Sharjeel Inam Memon, significant strides discussed for the province’s transport infrastructure. The meeting, held on Friday, included key officials like Transport Secretary Asad Zaman and Sindh Mass Transit Authority MD Kamal Hakeem Dayo.

Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the commitment of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari to enhance connectivity across Sindh. The plan aims to link tehsils with district headquarters, enhancing accessibility and convenience for residents. A critical component of this vision is the introduction of the Peoples Bus Service routes from Sukkur to Larkana and Sukkur to Khairpur, aligning with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s directives.

During the meeting, detailed briefings covered the progress on various Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects, signal installations, and the reconstruction of bus terminals. An important decision made to construct a U-turn specifically for the Peoples Bus Service to streamline operations. To alleviate traffic congestion in Hyderabad’s central areas, plans for a new parking plaza also discussed.

Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon received updates on the completion status of eight bus terminals. The construction of these terminals now finished, with plans to make them operational by June. This development marks a significant milestone in improving the region’s transport infrastructure.
