As the prices reduced in the global market, petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to fall by Rs 10 per liter. As per the Petroleum Division, the price can be cut down by Rs 10 and diesel by Rs 25 per liter. The immediate reduction will rely on approval from the federal cabinet and then the prices will seek a reduction from the month of July.
Miftah Ismail, Finance Minister, said the new petrol and diesel prices will be announced on Wednesday. Ismail said the summary has been sent to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. PM had asked the ministries to suggest a reduction in petroleum prices and to provide a relief package to the citizen.
Prime minister while chairing a meeting said the government will pass the benefit to the consumers who are mostly affected by the rise in petrol prices. He told that government would reduce the oil prices as prices are reduced in the international market.
