New Traffic Signals Coming to Karachi: KMC Approves Key NOC

Karachi moves toward new traffic management plans as Mayor Murtaza Wahab approves NOCs for major intersections and new bus lay-bys. The decision speeds up upgrades on Karachi traffic signals, KMC road management, and SMTA transit routes. The move aims to support bus service routes and improve traffic flow across key Karachi points.

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab approved NOCs for the upgrade of four major intersections. These include Eidgah Nazimabad, Liaquatabad No.10, Nishter Road Garden, and Arts Council. He told officers to move the process without delay. He also made it clear that the Transport Department and the Sindh Mass Transit Authority must install new Karachi traffic signals within one year.

The mayor also discusses about the encroachments on KMC roads. The Mayor said the projects cannot work if roads stay blocked. He asked for full support in clearing them.

However, SMTA team brought in another request. They wanted bus lay-bys along the Karachi routes of Peoples Bus Service. After a short exchange, KMC agreed. The new NOCs will cover routes from Khokhrapar to Tower, North Karachi to Korangi Crossing, North Karachi to Nasser Jump via Civic Center, Karsaz and FTC, and North Karachi to Keamari via UP Mor.
