Newly Inaugurated Lahore Islamia Ground Sports Complex Membership Fees

Lahore residents welcomed the New Year with excitement as Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi officially opened the Islamia Ground Sports Complex on January 1st, a project that faced a seven-year delay. The state-of-the-art facility, located in Sant Nagar and costing Rs680 million, now offers a variety of sports and recreational amenities to the public.

Expressing his admiration for the modern exercise equipment, CM Naqvi commended the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) team, as well as Commissioner Lahore and Ran, for delivering top-notch sports facilities. He acknowledged the lack of sports facilities in the area and credited the LDA for addressing this gap.

The Islamia Ground Sports Complex project, initiated in 2017, faced a prolonged delay before its recent completion. Despite this, Chief Minister Naqvi emphasized the transformation from an unfinished project to a community asset.

During the inauguration, Provincial Minister Azfar Ali Nasir and other officials engaged in a friendly game of carrom with CM Naqvi. He lauded the LDA team for successfully completing and unveiling the sports complex to the public.

Chief Minister Naqvi revealed plans to outsource various services within the sports complex, responding to the increasing interest in memberships. Memberships, available for Rs 200,000, cater to entire families, providing access to more than 20 indoor sports for men, women, and families on the 12-Kanal complex.

Addressing concerns about the relatively high membership fee, CM Naqvi compared it to other clubs charging up to Rs4 million. He assured that considerations would be made for citizens unable to afford the higher fees, reflecting the commitment to inclusivity.

In unrelated discussions with journalists, CM Naqvi expressed support for the enforcement of driving license regulations, emphasizing the importance of obtaining a license after years of driving.
