The National Highway Motorway Police (NHMP) has introduced a new (CE) category driving license for the general public, allowing individuals to operate trailers. This development carries significant implications, as it promises to create fresh employment prospects for Pakistanis in regions such as the Middle East, Canada, and Europe, where there is a growing demand for CE category drivers, according to a statement by a public relations officer.
The cost of obtaining this license is Rs 5,000, and in order to be eligible for the CE category driving license, applicants must possess a valid LTV (Light Transport Vehicle) driving license for at least one year.
For Pakistani drivers with CE licenses working in Saudi Arabia, this initiative could lead to an increase of $52 million in remittances, along with the creation of 3,831 employment opportunities, with each employee earning an average of $1,080.
In Europe, CE license holders can potentially earn up to $1,350.
This new driving license offering by the NHMP not only empowers individuals in Pakistan but also has the potential to positively impact the country’s economy through increased remittances and employment opportunities for its citizens.
