Karachi Traffic Police implements new safety reforms for commuters. Beginning in December, bikes will be riding on exclusive bike paths on Shahrah-e-Faisal. Governments are also striving to minimize accidents, enhance traffic mobility, and ensure that day-to-day commuting to schools, colleges, and workplaces is safer. This traffic overhaul will depend heavily on the cooperation of people.
The commuters in Karachi will experience significant changes in major city routes as Karachi Traffic Police drive forward with its reforms to minimize the number of accidents and enhance traffic flow.
DIG Traffic Karachi, Peer Muhammad Shah, addressed business leaders at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, outlining the upcoming measures.
Dedicated Bike Lanes on Shahrah-e-Faisal
Starting in December, the motorcycles get separate lanes on Shahrah-e-Faisal. The purpose of this change is to minimize the number of accidents of two-wheeler vehicles and enhance the flow of cars, buses, and commercial vehicles. The officials claim that these lanes will help to make Shahrah-e-Faisal less dangerous to ordinary commuters, delivery riders, and business drivers.
The Karachi Traffic Police reform agenda aims at ensuring an easier passage of millions of travelers. It focuses on the predictable commutes, as it will enable the office workers, families, and transport operators to get to their destinations efficiently.

DIG Peer Muhammad Shah pointed out that Traffic laws can only work when the citizens obey them. Drivers should observe lanes and signals in order to promote road safety. The government encourages commuters to collaborate in order to make the reform successful.
This project is under a broader Karachi traffic control plan. Authorities intend to check the progress and increase lane separation on other highways in case it works.
