According to sources, foster brother and close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Owais Muzaffar Tappi arrested from Dubai.
Owais Muzaffar Tappi arrested on Monday night at Dubai by Interpol. The former PPP MPA is accused of the illegal sale of government land. However, he is expected to be extradited to Pakistan soon.
In 2018, investigators probing the money laundering case had informed the Supreme Court that a large amount of the illegal money went into an account maintained by Owais Muzaffar Tappi.
Saeed Ghani, senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, said that he found out about Owais Muzaffar Tappi’s arrest from television channels and was trying to confirm these reports.
