CJP Mian Saqib Nisar visited Air Headquarters and met with Air Chief of Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan on Wednesday to give dams fund.
The Pakistan Air force chief presented him a cheque of Rs 100 million for the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund on behalf of all personnel of Pakistan Air Force.
While speaking at the occasion, the air chief emphasized the resolve to defend the aerial frontiers of Pakistan, and also continue to contribute towards nation building.
The Chief Justice thanked the air chief for the kind gesture and also applauded the sound professionalism of the Pakistan air force. He also delivered a lecture to PAF personnel.
Pakistan army Donates over Rs 1 billion in Dams Fund
Pakistan army has earlier donated more than Rs. 1 billion to the dam fund on 10 September. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met CJP Saqib Nisar at the Supreme court and handed him the cheque of Rs. 1.05 billion for dams fund.
According to ISPR spokesperson Maj. Gen Asif Ghafoor, the army chief conveyed to the CJP Saqib Nisar that Pakistan army shall continue to contribute towards nation building as a responsible national institution.
The COAS, in his letter to the CJP Saqib Nisar, informed that the junior commissioned officers and soldiers of the Pakistan army will donate two-day salary, whereas the army officers will give their one-day salary to the dams fund.
He also mentioned in the letter that Pakistan Army’s welfare organisations also made donations for the dams fund. Pakistan army has emerged as the largest contributor to the dams fund so far.
The ‘Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund 2018’ was established by the federal government in pursuance of a Supreme Court order for raising funds for the construction of the two dams.
CJP Nisar was the first to donate money for the dams fund as on July 5 by depositing ten million rupees. The dams fund also collected over Rs 4.4 billion to date.
The dams fund was merged with PM’s fund created by Imran Khan on September 7, and can receive donations and contributions from both domestic and international donors, individuals and companies and the general public.
