Pakistan ambassador to US Asad Majeed will give credentials to Trump


Washington: Dr Asad Majeed Khan, Pakistan ambassador to US will present the credentials to President Donald Trump on Friday (today).

Pakistan ambassador to US Asad Majeed Khan will provide his credentials to US President Donald Trump today. At White House, a ceremony will be held in which ambassadors of India and Afghanistan will also give their credentials to US President Donald Trump.

New Pakistan ambassador to US, Dr Asad Majeed Khan reached Washington on Monday. He is a career diplomat who currently served as the Pakistan ambassador to Japan. In addition, he also served in Washington and New York in different roles.

In October 2018, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi revealed the appointment of Dr Asad Majeed Khan as the new Pakistan ambassador to US. However, he replaced Ali Jahangir Siddiqi who was appointed as the ambassador by the PML-N government at the end of their tenure.

Jahangir Siddiqi later resigned from the position of Pakistan’s ambassador to the US last month. However, Dr Asad Majeed Khan will give his credentials to US President Donald Trump in a few days.
