In a recent announcement, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Pakistan has provided updated information regarding the fees for Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC) and Smart National Identity Cards (SNIC) as of March 2024. These changes aim to streamline the application process and enhance accessibility for citizens.
CNIC Fee Structure:
- Normal CNIC: Rs750
- Urgent CNIC: Rs1,500
- Executive CNIC: Rs2,500
Applicants can choose the category that suits their urgency and needs, ensuring a flexible and efficient service tailored to individual requirements.
Smart National Identity Card (SNIC) Application:
To facilitate the application process, NADRA offers two convenient methods:
- Visit a NADRA Registration Center (NRC): Applicants can choose to apply in person by visiting their nearest NRC, where they can submit the required documents and biometric data.
- Online Application Through Pak Identity Website: For the Smart National Identity Card (SNIC), applicants can utilize the user-friendly Pak Identity website. This online platform allows for a hassle-free application process from the comfort of one’s home. Notably, SNIC applications made through this website can be conveniently delivered to the applicant’s doorstep.
It’s important to note that while the Pak Identity website facilitates SNIC applications, it does not currently support the application process for new or fresh CNICs.
Benefits of CNIC and SNIC:
CNIC and SNIC play a pivotal role in providing a secure and reliable means of identification for Pakistani citizens. The inclusion of biometric details such as fingerprints and iris scans enhances security measures, minimizing the risk of duplication and fake IDs.
By staying informed about the updated fee structure and application methods, citizens can ensure a smooth and efficient process when obtaining their CNIC or SNIC. These initiatives by NADRA reflect a commitment to improving citizen services and enhancing the overall identity verification system in Pakistan.
