Somalia was severely affected by the newly brewing Cyclone Sagar in the Arabian Sea. However; it poses no threat to the Pakistan or its coastline.

With dozens dead in Somalia, a tropical threat is looming about in form of Cyclone Sagar. The destructive winds and heavy rains have killed 15 so far in the African country.

The new cyclone is moving east from Somalia and is expected to hit Oman and then Yemen this week. However; Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued notice that the Cyclone will not effect our coastline. No effects of Tropical Cyclone Sagar will be felt or seen in Pakistan, said Met department.

The Cyclone will then bring harsh winds towards Island of Socotra from late Tuesday on-wards. A North and Northwest projection will take the cyclone towards Oman on Friday or Saturday.

The cyclone’s strength might turn into that of a hurricane class if it moves towards Pacific or Atlantic Oceans.
