NA-127 Lahore is a constituency where Maryam Nawaz was going to contest Pakistan Election 2018 before her imprisonment and disqualification. The constituency formed after the merger of old NA-122, NA-123 and NA-124. However, in Pakistan Election 2013 PML-N won all three seats.

The constituency is comprised of UET, Kot Khawaja Saeed, Baghbanpura, Mughalpura, Shalimar Garden, UET, Singhpura, Garhi Shahu, Baghbanpura, Gujjarpura, and Railway Colony. There are total 610,731 voters in the area out of which 30% are female.

NA-127 is facing several civic issues. Orange Line Metro Train is likely to cut through the area. It is Pakistan’s first rapid transit service and a large infrastructure project. However, residents are unhappy with issues in their area they are facing from several years. Issues related to basic concerns such as water shortage, undeveloped roads, and open trash dumping are still present in constituency.

Ali Pervaiz Malik from PML-N and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema from PTI are the key candidates from the constituency. Ali Pervaiz was earlier nominated as the covering candidate for Maryam Nawaz. He missed the deadline to apply for tiger’s symbol and now will contest election on TV symbol as an independent candidate. However, he has the support of PML-N. In addition, 8 other candidates are also contesting General Election 2018 from NA-127 Lahore.
