Pakistan Election 2018: PML-N nominates Shehbaz Sharif for PM

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) announced Shehbaz Sharif as the candidate for Prime Minister.

PML-N nominated Shehbaz Sharif for parliamentary leader and Prime Minister. The party’s Central Working Committee meeting took the decision. However, Shehbaz presided the meeting and discussed political situation in Punjab and center.

Marriyum Aurangzeb, the former information minister, elaborated media that the party is in contact with independent MPAs but will not engage itself in horse trading. On Saturday, opposition alliance named “Pakistan Alliance for Free and Fair Election” decided to support Shehbaz Sharif for PM. However, the alliance also revealed candidates for PM, Speaker, and Deputy Speaker.


Yesterday, PTI nominated its chief Imran Khan for the post of PM. However, according to sources, Shah Mehmood Qureshi might become the National Assembly Speaker.

PTI’s parliamentary committee took the decision in a meeting at Islamabad. Shah Mehmood Qureshi presented the resolution for Imran’s nomination for PM that was accepted unanimously.  Imran decided that he will keep the cabinet short with 15 to 20 ministers. However, PTI emerged as a leading party in Pakistan Election 2018.
