Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered votes recounting in NA-131 that will be carried out on Tuesday (today).

Saad Rafique requested recounting of votes in NA-131 after he lost the seat against Imran Khan in Pakistan Election 2018. However, the recounting of votes in whole constituency will be held today.

Khawaja Saad Rafique lost the General Election 2018 from a thin margin of 680 votes. His rival and PTI chief Imran Khan got 84,313 votes while he obtained 83,633 votes from NA-131 Lahore.

The senior PML-N leader appealed for the recounting in the constituency. However, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) upheld Imran Khan’s win as Saad Rafique’s votes increased by just 125. In addition, Imran Khan’s votes increased by just 50 after the recounting.

Later, Khawaja Saad Rafique approached Lahore High Court who stopped ECP from issuing notification of success to Imran Khan. In addition, LHC also stopped ECP from issuing success notification of Khawaja Asif from NA-73 Sialkot.

Lahore High Court Justice Mamoonur Rasheed revealed the decision on plea filed by Usman Dar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
