SUKKUR: Appellate tribunal formed by the ECP rejected nomination papers of PPP leader Manzoor Wasan from PS-27 Khairpur.
Pakistan Peoples Party leader Manzoor Wasan had his nomination rejected by tribunal from PS-27 Khairpur.
A member of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) named Mir Zaheer Talpur had appealed against Wasan’s candidature.
He claimed that the PPP leader had not declared his assets in Dubai in his nomination papers.
The Grand Democratic Alliance is a coalition of political parties and is led by the PML-F. The GDA was formed to end the long reign of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Sindh.
According to Wasan he had filled out his asset details correctly and was unsure of why his nomination got rejected. He has vowed to take this matter into Sindh High Court.
Wasan, who is a veteran Pakistan Peoples Party Leader has served as provincial minister of home affairs for Sindh. He has been elected four times as a member of the Sindh Assembly while he has also been elected twice for National Assembly.
