Pakistan Navy saves Indian national after a critical medical emergency onboard a Liberian-flagged oil tanker, MT High Leader, in the Arabian Sea.
The incident occurred when the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Centre (JMICC) received an alert about a seriously injured Indian crew member onboard the vessel. Following the distress call, Pakistan Navy initiated a coordinated rescue operation. A naval vessel deployed along with a helicopter carrying a medical team to reach the tanker.
The injured individual evacuated from the oil tanker and provided immediate medical assistance by the Pakistan Navy team. He then transferred to the shore with the help of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and transported to a hospital in Karachi for further treatment.
This action took place amid tense regional conditions and is being acknowledged as a fulfillment of Pakistan’s international maritime obligations under the laws governing safety of life at sea.
