Today marks the observance of Juma-tul-Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan, a day of significant religious importance for Muslims worldwide. This day is being commemorated with deep reverence across various Muslim nations, including Pakistan.
Juma-tul-Wida is a day when Muslims rise at dawn, cleanse themselves, and don new attire. They congregate in mosques in large numbers to offer prayers, recite verses from the Holy Quran, engage in acts of charity, and seek divine blessings and forgiveness.
As the holy month of Ramazan nears its conclusion, mosques resonate with the poignant farewell Kalam ‘Alwida Alwida hai, Mahe Ramazan tu Hum se Wida Hai’. This Kalam recited in unison by the faithful, their eyes welling up with tears at the prospect of bidding farewell to this blessed month.
Millions will participate in Friday prayers at mosques nationwide. Special supplications will made for the advancement and prosperity of Pakistan and for the unity of Muslims globally. Religious leaders and Imams will underscore the significance of the fasting month and the observance of Juma-tul-Wida.
In the federal capital, the largest Juma-tul-Wida congregation will take place at the Faisal Mosque, while in Lahore, it will be at the Badshahi Mosque. To ensure the safety of the attendees, stringent security measures have implemented at several mosques.
