Islamabad: The deadline for the submission of nomination form for upcoming Pakistan Presidential Election ended today.
The deadline to submit nomination papers for Pakistan Presidential Election ended at 12pm today. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) nominated Aitzaz Ahsan while other opposition parties fielded JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman for the President of Pakistan.
Both candidates submitted the nomination papers at Islamabad High Court (IHC) today. In addition, Dr Arif Alvi from Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) also filed nomination papers for Pakistan Presidential Election.
Candidates asked to submit their nomination papers for Pakistan Presidential Election till today. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) asked candidates to submit their nomination papers with presiding officers in Quetta, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad till 12pm today.
Chief Election Commissioner will perform nomination papers’ scrutiny in Islamabad on August 29 at 10am. However, August 30 is the last day to withdraw nomination papers. The final list will also made public on the same date.
Pakistan Presidential Election polling will be held on September 4. Members of four provincial assemblies, National Assembly, and Senate will cast their vote through the secret balloting.
