Pakistan Quarters: CJP extends eviction deadline after protest

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar extended Pakistan Quarters eviction deadline after the clash between police and protestors.

Pakistan Quarters eviction deadline extended by three months as the protest turned into the violent clash. At least 16 people, including 6 personnel from police were injured in clashes.

When the situation became worse, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail contacted Chief Justice Saqib Nisar who extended the Pakistan Quarters eviction deadline.


President Khurram Sher Zaman, revealed that his party had asked the governor Imran Ismail to take notice of the incident.

Earlier, police stopped the eviction operation after CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah telephoned AIG Karachi. However, he expressed anger over the use of force against the residents. However, PTI MPA Jamal Siddiqui, and MQM-P leaders Amir Khan, Naveed Jamil, Farooq Sattar also visited the site to support the residents.
