Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir Receives Guard of Honour

On Monday, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, received a Guard of Honour in a great ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The ceremony involved all three arms of the Pakistani armed forces the Army, Navy and Air Force, with each of them parading their ceremonial Guard of Honour in honour of Field Marshal Munir and his service.

Top military officials, such as the Chief of Naval Staff, the Chief of Air Staff and other top officers of the three services attended the ceremony. The event highlighted unity and coordination amongst the armed forces of Pakistan under the leadership of Chief of Defence Forces.

The Guard of Honour was inspected by Field Marshal Munir during proceedings and this is a conventionally military practice that signifies respect and discipline. The event also emphasized the desire of the armed forces to hold high professionalism and operational preparedness levels.

This official acknowledgement comes at a period when the military leadership in Pakistan still holds a central role in providing national security and enhancing the defence capabilities of the nation.
