Pakistan’s Hindus Celebrate Vibrant Holi Festival

Holi, the vibrant festival of colours, love, and the arrival of spring, is being celebrated with immense enthusiasm not just in Pakistan, but all around the world. The Hindu community, a significant minority in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, is rejoicing in the Holi festivities, marking the end of winter on the last full moon of the lunar month.

Mirroring global celebrations, Pakistani Hindus are immersing themselves in the joyous occasion by showering each other with a riot of colours, singing traditional songs, and offering prayers for the prosperity of Pakistan and its diverse communities.

Holi, symbolizing the victory of good over evil, is a festival where the vibrancy of colours becomes the face of the celebrations.

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended their warm wishes to the Hindu community on the occasion of Holi. President Zardari hailed Holi as a symbol of the triumph of good over evil and emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees religious freedom, making Pakistan a harmonious blend of diverse religions.

He also acknowledged the valuable contributions made by the Hindu community to the country.

Echoing similar sentiments, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wished the Hindu community a joyous Holi. He urged everyone to commemorate this day by celebrating our differences as strengths. He expressed pride in the multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-cultural, and multi-religious fabric of Pakistani society.
