The JF-17 jets Azerbaijan exercise focuses on tactical coordination, air combat training, and operational planning between both nations. The PAF formation completed a nonstop flight from Pakistan to Azerbaijan, supported by aerial refuelling through an IL-78 tanker aircraft. The mission showed PAF’s readiness for long-range operations and international deployments.

The Indus Shield Alpha exercise is designed to promote collaboration and enhance mutual understanding between the two countries’ air forces, as per an official statement released by ISPR. The scope of the drills covers modern air combat tactics, mission planning, and the integration of data-driven methodologies relevant to the operation of advanced air force technologies.

Azerbaijan JF-17 collaboration extends beyond training. In 2024, both nations signed a deal for the sale of JF-17 Block III jets, deepening defense ties. This latest exercise strengthens that partnership through joint participation and strategic engagement.
