Islamabad: Supreme Court summoned Khawar Maneka, the former husband of Bushra Bibi, on Monday in Pakpattan DPO transfer case.
CJP Saqib Nisar led bench summoned Khawar Maneka in Pakpattan DPO transfer case on September 3, Monday. A three-member bench of the Supreme court chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar is hearing the suo motu case.
During the Pakpattan DPO transfer case hearing today, CJP Saqib Nisar gave his remarks. He said that the court will analyze that how a transfer made thorugh exerting pressure. CJP Saqib Nisar said that they want an independent police force. He further added that if the transfer is made on CM Punjab request, than it is unfair.
Supreme court has summoned Pakpattan DPO Rizwan Gondal, Inspector General Punjab Police and the Regional Police Officer in personal capacity. Moreover, an inquiry officer has also been summoned along with his report on the matter.
The investigation report on suo-motu case has also been forwarded to IG Punjab. According to the inquiry report, Pakpattan DPO Rizwan Gondal was responsible for not conducting an inquiry against officers who misbehaved with Khawar Maneka. The inquiry report also stated that Pakpattan DPO Rizwan Gondal ‘twisted’ the entire matter and made it public on social media.
