PATIENTS’ AID 2ND GOLF TOURNAMENT 26’For Establishing a Comprehensive, Free Stroke Unit at JPMC

Patients’ Aid Foundation organized its 2^nd Golf Tournament dedicated to the establishment of a comprehensive Stroke Unit at Jinnah Post graduate Medical Centre JPMC for providing free, quality treatment to marginalized stroke patients visiting JPMC from Karachi, Interior Sindh, Balochistan and other rural areas of the country.

The Patients’ Aid 2nd Golf Tournament took place on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Karachi Golf Club supported by organizations including Fast Cables, Habib Metropolitan Bank, Sapphire, Crescent Steel & Allied Products, Martin Dow, Bank Al Habib, Dubai Islamic Bank, Premier Insurance, IGI Insurance, Thal Limited, Bank Al Falah, Jubilee Life Insurance, EFU General Insurance, Candyland, Cargo Express, National Foods, Artistic Milliners and more. The fundraiser was organized to create critical awareness about stroke prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation. The event highlighted the urgent need for establishment of the upcoming Stroke Unit at JPMC for free and accessible post-stroke care and long-term neurological rehabilitation for patients who otherwise cannot afford treatment.

Mr. Mushtaq Chhapra, Chairman – Patients’ Aid Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm about the tournament, stating, “This golf tournament not only brings together the golfer community and our valued partners but also shines a spotlight on the growing need for the upcoming stroke recovery and rehabilitation centre at JPMC by Patients’ Aid Foundation. Established in 1990, Patients’ Aid Foundation has been instrumental in transforming JPMC into the state-of-the-art tertiary hospital, offering advanced healthcare facilities to economically disadvantaged patients nationwide completely free of charge. Our impact extends to the New Jinnah OPD & Surgical Complex, advanced Cancer treatment including Cyber Knife & Tomotherapy, PET-CT, Radiology, Neurology, Neurotrauma, Accident & Emergency (A&E), Blood Bank, Nephrology, Gynea & Obstetrics, Pharmacy, Psychiatry & more. Patients’ Aid’s healthcare revolution at JPMC has enabled provision of quality medical care to over 12,000 patients in OPD and 2,000 patients in A&E (representing 75% of emergency cases in Karachi) every single day. In the fiscal year 2024-25 alone, Patients’ Aid provided 12,701 free dialysis sessions, facilitated 25,400 women in quality childbirth, treated over 50,000 cancer patients and conducted 782,000 free radiological diagnostics along with provision of free medicines to over 108,000 patients. Through initiatives like this golf tournament, we aim to further strengthen healthcare facilities at Jinnah Hospital, Karachi and give patients a second chance at life.”
