Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) bidding process for the privatization scheduled for October 1st. The news was shared during a meeting of the National Assembly’s privatization committee, led by Farooq Sattar of MQM.
Farooq Sattar mentioned that six companies are in the race to take over PIA, making it the first state-owned entity to be privatized under this current framework.
Sattar also announced a live broadcast of the bidding process, stating that talks with Privatization Minister Aleem Khan could make this possible. He even referred to this meeting as a “farewell” for PIA as the airline heads towards a new chapter in its history.
He reassured that the rights and benefits of PIA employees will not be compromised after privatization. Their salaries and allowances will be safeguarded, ensuring that no one is left behind in this transition.
